Center of Excellence. Medicare Lap Band

For those of you with Medicare seeking potential Lap Band surgery, you probably now that Medicare will only cover the surgery if performed by surgeons and hospitals designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.

That's not all. Medicare has many requirements before surgery such as

- a 3 month medical weight loss program with a nutritionist
- involvement in an exercise program
- smoking cessation program for smokers
- psychological evaluation

and more possible workup required.
